(SNES) RWE - Nature

Oops - my bad!

Well, sorry to have posted that email about our past, I just wanted to prove a point about our past moderator and what happened to Barry. Kind of ironic that he would post that there after we left, but that is now water under the bridge.

Wow, its nice to see everyone posting here without fear of repercution from our new moderator. I am glad to be in fresh digs.

Time to pahty!

So, was my email about eclipses too much?

I hope to get out observing tonight, but the weather down in Myles Standish looks unpromising. But I will be going to Myles tomorrow night. Sorry guys but I think Myles has better all around skies than FDO, but FDO has great southern skies, albeit for the northern, northeastern and northwestern skies you seem to have the most light problems with (unless you can prove me otherwise).

I am not making a statement about who has the best skies and I dont want to get brow beaten by you guys.

But Lets hope the heavens open up tonight in all their glory!

Hi gang,

By the way, the quote about the stars from Ralph Waldo Emerson is from the
first chapter of his work Nature (1838) - a masterpiece of its type, and one
of the cornerstones of the modern pantheistic movement (spiritual reverence
for nature and the universe).

For those who might be interested, the complete work, in eight brief
chapters, is widely available, including on the internet at EcoTopia at:

http://www.ecotopia.org/about/nature/nature1.html

I highly recommend it as fine reading for all astronomers and lovers of the
natural world.

(Hope this isn't straying off topic, Joe. I am certainly not one to push ANY
religious beliefs or doctrine!)
