(SNES) The Red Spider Nebula

Hi Everyone,

Nice pic on Astronomy Photo of the Day today, available at:

http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html (and at other sites)

of the Red Spider nebula, NGC 6537. I've never observed this one in a
telescope, but it turns out that it's only 3 degrees SW of the now famous
star cluster BMM 1 in Sagittarius (aka Barry's Cluster).

The Red Spider is only magnitude 12.0, and 5" in diameter (less than 1/10 of
the Ring Nebula) but it would be an easy target in the 16" at FDO. Of course,
since today's photo was taken by the Hubble Space Telescope, I wouldn't
expect that we'll see anything at all "arachnid" about this tiny object's
appearance!
