Hi Dave,

We hear you on that one!

FDO has hosted well in excess of 3,000 visitors just since the installation
of the 16" scope two years ago. Many have been students at all levels
(elementary through college post graduate), Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies,
etc. Just when we think we've begun to grow bored with showing the same
object over and over again, a young person (or at least someone unfamiliar
with the views possible through such a scope) steps up to the eyepiece and is
awestruck by what they see! They come back up to the platform several more
times. And in many cases we soon see them at FDO again, with families in tow.
The sense of gratification I get from this experience outweighs any tedium
that may occasionally try creep in - and I'm sure that all the directors and
docents feel the same way!

:o)
