Re: (SNES) Talking much but saying little

How can we observe with all this darned heat and humidity? I went out night before last and I was sweating bullets jut trying to center a planetary in Aquila in the EP. I think I observed NGC 6807, just west of Altair. I used a 2" 14mm Konig and an OIII filter. But it was too hazy, too much humidity and the EP kept getting fogged over by my body proximity.

I then looked at M57, just for the fun of it and then looked at M13, but the skies were hazy and my limiting magnitude naked eye was a disappointing 3. I can wait for fall when the crisp air will allow me to observe with out all the hassles of summer weather.

I willalso dabble a little with the 5" monitor and CCT camera this fall. The planets will look good and I will try EP projection and filtering methods to bring out detail. Maybe I will make a recording of the observations right then and there with a portable VCR.

For now, I dream of not sugarplums dancing in my head, but of digital setting circles and dob drivers...

By the way, I am selling the 26" mirror, I already have afew nibbles at my astromart ad. It might be sold by Stellafane...the money taken will be used to get the setting circles and dob driver...heehee

Hi everyone,

I sometimes amaze myself with how often I post to groups like this. I just
checked the numbers and 62 of SNegazers' first 147 posts are from yours
truly! That's over 42%! And I actually haven't said all that much - as some
will no doubt agree. :o)

Oh well, I had the same reputation at another New England group and ended up
getting shown the door - although I don't think for that reason. Hopefully,
Joe will be a bit more tolerant of my verbosity, and I'll try to "dial it
down" whenever possible for the benefit of all.

Of course, if you would all post more often, I wouldn't stick out quite so
much! Where are all those observation reports and astro discussions, folks?
