Re: (SNES) FDO this weekend?

Well, I am getting antsy. I need to go out and observe. With my newer modifications plus my getting the Sky Commander and Dob Driver for my scope, I will be really anxious to get out there and try out my new toys.

I have to start re-building my rocker box to accomodate the encoders for the digital setting circles and the dob driver. Anyone know where I cant get 1/16" aluminum sheet, 24" in diameter for the ground board of my scope for the surface so the azimuth drive of the dob driver can run properly?

I will be ordering both units after Stellafane next weekend. I am really anxious to be able to start doing some really great observing with these new tools. And possibly explore CCD imaging. I will need to get a cheap laptop for the software to run the GOTO...oops I said a dirty four letter word...

But all kidding aside, I cant wait.

Darn, where are the clear crisp skies of yore?

Dave

Hi Everyone,

Although it's much too soon to give up hope, it isn't looking good for FDO
tomorrow night. Clouds, thunderstorms likely - all that nasty stuff, just
like last weekend. :o(.

But I hope that the dire forecasts floating around for most of this week
haven't caused anyone to change plans for Saturday night. The updated
forecasts, as of a few minutes ago, are looking much better! Partly cloudy
and more comfortable, they say. So there may yet be some public viewing and
even some Perseid meteor shower watching down at FDO this weekend. :o)

Stay tuned!
