I was absolutely fascinated by the tale of Harrison, especially
given my anal-retentiveness about time!  I could have been the
Jeremy Irons character in the show, obsessing over a volunteer
activity, spending more and more time on it, losing sleep and...

I think the thing that tipped the scale in Harrison's favor eventually
was the fact that sea captains found his chronometer so darn useful
that the Royal Astronomer couldn't completely cover it up.
