(SNES) FDO tonight
Hi All,
If the weather holds tonight we'll get to see (among many things) a rare
double satellite transit of Jupiter by Io and Europa. Both moon's shadows
will also be on the Jovian surface for a while at the same time: 2 moons & 2
shadows! It all starts when Jupiter rises. The full show starts at 11:43 PM,
when Jupiter will be 12 degrees above the horizon - good enough to enjoy the
view!
We also have a nice Iridium flare, an excellent space station pass, a well
placed comet, and an asteroid or two to enjoy. Then there are the Orionid
meteors. It could be quite a night, as Saturn is also now in the prime
viewing season, and the moon will not be a factor!
Hope to see many of you at FDO,
:o)
