Hi Folks
My schedule that Saturday is very IFFY, but I would like to know if you
would be seriously interested in coming on Saturday when the height of
the Leonids is expected. We have talked about a session, but the chaos
of this Fall has put this idea aside.
Remember that you don't need to have special equipment to view the
Leonids. Eyeballs are the very best tools for spotting meteors. I would
suggest bringing a large mirror because after a while you get a crick in
your neck looking up and you can at least catch a reflection in the mirror.
If sufficient interest is available and at least one "key person" is
available I'll contact the town. This will be an experts only event -
the idea of trying to host children until the real events in the early
morning hours seems a waste of time.
Les Coleman
