Re: (SNES) Observing Jupiter's Other Children

I had not heard that y'all had observed Phobos and Deimos at FDO - that is
wonderful! I have only seen Deimos myself, and that was only thanks to the
fine planetary telescope and ingenuity of local amateur John Boudreau, who
actually created an occulting bar for his scope one dark-sky weekend...

BTW, on the FDO "lifelist" (birders used to call these "kill lists", didn't
they? :>), I noticed that the fine galaxy NGC7619 in Peg/Psc was out of its
proper place on the deep-sky lifelist. And also I recalled that on my visit
down to FDO last Spring, we'd actually observed this galaxy AND most of the
others that comprise the fine "Pegasus I" galaxy group... So y'all may want
to add in NGCs 7612, 7623, 7631, 7626 and 7611 to your list for that great
instrument. (I believe we also saw IC5309 that night, and even a few of the
UGCs and more obscure galaxies that suffuse this group, but I can't swear.)

Clear skies all, and long live FDO!
