Hi Les,
This does seem to happen quite often. I've never looked into this question,
but I wonder what percentage of comets move south of our orbital plane after
passing the Sun, as opposed to coming up our way. The Aussies certainly seem
to get the better of many displays!
Thanks for the IAU link - perhaps we'll have reliable coordinates and a clear
sky this coming Friday at FDO so we can check out the new arrival. Seems as
though it is moving away from the Sun at the moment (northeastward) but that
"ain't necessarily so".
