(SNES) Optical Resolution

Hi Everyone,

When I wrote an article about the human eye's role in an optical system,
Doug Stewart had a question about resolving power. I said that I would
write up an explanation of the theorectical basis of resolving power. 
While experienced hands know that it is impossible to keep increasing 
the strength of eyepieces to allow splitting close doubles beyond a 
certain point, very few amateurs know the real underlying reasons why.
