Hi Les,
I was surprised to read that this star (variously reported to be from mag
11.7 to 12.7) is the brightest star ever predicted to be occulted by Pluto.
Wow! That just reinforces the tiny size of that distant frozen world!
Too bad we won't be able to catch the show at FDO. #1, it will be a Monday
night.
#2, it happens during broad daylight for our area (about 7 PM). By the time
it's completely dark at FDO Pluto will have drifted about 13" west of the
star. And #3, it most assuredly will be raining!
