Re: (SNES) Planetary alignment photos
Hi Edward,
I'll welcome you to FDO on behalf of everyone. I may or may not be around
if you show up in the middle of June (Friday 14 or 21) but I'll be around
the 28th
and probably all of July. Of course, if I'm not there, come anyway, the rest
of the
folks will be glad to see you. I'll let them know you are planning to be in
the area.
Make sure you introduce yourself. I'm easy to spot - or more correctly
hear - I
have a exceedingly loud voice which I use to get our visitors looking at the
sky.
Doug Stewart will probably be running the 16" (he seems to be up there most
of the time),
Steve Brandt may or may not be running his 12" LX200. Joe Hartley (who runs
a
small telescope website) is often outside with the ETX when he isn't inside
fixing
some of our major equipment. Barry Martasian is new to astronomy but he is
likely to be outside
locating things in Sagitarrius and Scorpio. Art Guarino is likely to be
running a star
identification session. Ernie Evans who has published a sky guide usually
sets up in
parking lot. You may see as many as a dozen frequent visitors out there from
three
states. Recently we had two 20" dobs, a 17.5" dobs, three 8" SCTs, a half
dozen
Newtonians, several large refractors and numerous big binoculars out there,
and most
of the folks had traveled at least 70 miles to get to us.
