Re: (SNES) The Butterfly Effect and Astronomy

Mr. Les Coleman:

I read your piece and am most intrigued by this phenomenon. I use a
binocular headband magnifier because of the fine detail work I do and have
always experienced the dimensional staggering effect you explained whenever
viewing colored images thru my magnifier. The effect seems to be more
pronounced when a saturated color is surrounded by another color of different
wavelength. I had long suspected that the binocular effect that exists when
using a binoviewer on my refractor was related to the same. It is a
physiological process of the being rather the mechanics of distance.
I would like to repost the body of your text to the ATM list (atm@shore.net)
as this subject of dimensional perception when viewing with a binoscope has
never been conclusively discussed. Waiting for your reply.

Dominic DiLeo

PS...... Yes I am a lurker on this list.
