(SNES) Perseid Radiant & M1 Finder Maps

Hello everyone,

I just downloaded a NASA provided chart that identifies the Perseid radiant.
A couple of interesting items came to mind when I first saw this chart:

1) The radiant is almost perfectly centered on the Double Cluster.

2) Saturn's current position makes it ideal as an aid for those of us who
don't have digital setting circles or GOTO to find the very elusive M1
planetary nebula.

As those of us who have tried already know, M1's surface brightness is too low
to allow it to be seen in the typical finder. I have a 10x80 finder, and have
seen M1 only once through it from a very dark site. Using Cartes du Ciel, I
went one step further, and created 2 star maps that should allow anyone to
center their finder at the correct spot to put M1 in the field of a low power
eyepiece.

I will be more than happy to provide these 3 files to anyone who would be
interested in obtaining a copy. Just drop me a quick email note, and I will
attach them to a return email back to you.

Respectfully,

Les Lytton
