Re: (SNES) I hate being the only one.
Hi Barry,
I too am curious as to what you actually saw. I haven't heard of any
reports from anyone other than you.
I've seen some strange stuff too.. specifically something VERY ODD flying
across desert/mountain/desert region of Turkey some 14 years ago when I
was vacationing.. I was on a busride across Turkey from Izmir to Adana. At
the time, I swore to myself it was a UFO.. but being that there was a US
base east of Adana quite a few hundred miles away, my next logical guess
was that it was some US military jet screwing around with his afterburners
at very low altitude. If not that, it may have been a missile test.
Still.. I have my doubts to this day. Here is what I saw.
It was about 2-3am at night.. we just crossed the Toros mountains and got
to the desert region just beyond. It was very DARK out. Off to the
south.. WAY off, I saw this odd red glow on the horizon. It was moving,
but not too fast, but not too slow. I thought it was moving too slow to be
a missile test. It was moving too fast to be a jet. The red glow.. or
afterburner effect I mentioned went on and on. I must have watched the
thing for a good 10-15 minutes. Missiles don't do that, and jets sure
don't blast their afterburners for 10 minutes straight.. unless there is
darn good reason and they are going somewhere. So.. I just watched
through the window.. and wondered. My mother saw it too, so It wasn't my
overtired imagination. I don't think anyone else saw it on the bus, or
cared what it was. It was quite late after all.
I never did check.. but it could have been something as simple and
explainable as fire shooting from the top of some oil processing facility.
It was so long ago now, that I doubt I could figure out what it was,
nevermind exactly WHERE I was at the time I saw it.
Hehhe, no it wasn't the red light from the dashboard reflecting on my
window :)
Regards,
Gary
