I saw a 1st mag green meteor drop below Sagittarius around 2000 Monday
night. This is only the second vivid green meteor I've seen. Are they rare?
Also, in 1957, I saw a Perseid true fireball brighter than the quarter
moon. It seemed to spiral down like a giant pinwheel while radiating chunks
of itself as it ablated. We thought it would reach the ground, but it seemed
to disappear just above the horizon. So far, this has been a once-in-a-
lifetime fireball of anywhere near its brightness for me!
