FYI, this release of Sky Chart contains the ability to view binary stars by
position angle
and date. If you look at Sirius and the Pup, you can watch the Pup go around
Sirius over a
50 year period. It is supposedly accurate enough to allow us to figure out
where the pup
shold appear.

This sounds similar to the binary star program I downloaded from Sky Pub and
enhanced to show doubles visibly. It will display any binary for which
orbital elements are known. Naturally, the binary star data I got for Sirius
from my old Becvar Atlas Catalogue contained an error and gave puzzling
results. Has anyone in the group seen the Pup through a scope lately?
