Hi Ernie,

A program which simply displays the position of the binary stars, while useful, lacks one
critical factor which makes this version more useful - this version places the two binary
stars in relation to nearby stars giving a sense of the position of the pair in their
setting. For instance Sirius and the Pup form an almost perfect straight line with BD-16
1596 which is 19' away.
Using the star field to get a perfect coordination between the software and the sky allows
me to say that the Pup appears to be about 4 o'clock relative to Sirius in the Equatorial
frame of reference with the telescope inverting the image left to right. With the ability
of SkyChart to rotate the image to match the exact image seen in the scope, we can be sure
where to look for the Pup.
