General Information

Welcome to the Southern New England Stargazers email list. Our intent is to provide a local source of information, get-to-gethers, star parties, observations, mutual assistance, dark sites information to the astronomical community in southern New England. Currently we have the following functions active:

• Archives permits browsing our old messages by date or subject thread, or searchable by keywords.
• Subscribe provides an interface for subscribing or unsubscribing from the list.
• FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) can be reviewed to see if others had the same question or concern you may have.
• Moderator/Questions allows you to contact S.N.E. Stargazers' moderator about any questions you may have.
• Information brings up this page.

Rules and Regulations

We don't know about you, but email lists which make you swear to abide by many rules generated because of some lawyer's frets and concerns are just pure officiousness. Email lists which take YOUR words and images and make them THEIR OWN property are even more annoying. We SHARE your words and images with others - thats all. We are here to exchange information of interest to the Southern New England Astronomical community. Just about all astronomical topics are welcome here.

Our only rules are:

• Keep it civil! Members of email lists can occasionally disagree. This is fine as long as the tone is kept respectful. Only when the language descends into the pit of disrespect will we be forced to step in.
• Advertizing is not acceptable. We don't mind honest enthusiatic comments about books, gadgets and products. What astronomer doesn't have a warm spot in his heart for his baby Keck telescope? We simply draw the line at blatent SPAMing of our membership for products and services.

Other than that, things are wide open.
